AN ADDICT IN THE FAMILY “The benefits of positive expression”

Taye Davey

Taye Davey brings her own unique personal experience and objective professional expertise to many of the most sensitive issues facing school children, adolescents and young adults in the UK today. From addictive behaviours to coping with bereavement, Taye’s honest and open presentations explore the practical benefits of ‘positive expression’ as an alternative approach to personal problem-solving.

After graduating from Business College in Oxford, Taye spent several years in the commercial world of advertising and financial PR, before seeking a more vocational path as a Personal Trainer teaching Aerobics and Yoga, either on a one-to-one basis or in various-sized classes around London.

Taye also completed a one-year foundation course in psychotherapy before starting a three year post-graduate diploma course in psycho-synthesis, working with Diana Whitmore on a ‘Teens and Toddlers’ project. (Taye now has a toddler of her own to look after.)

In 2005 Taye attended the Kenilworth Rehabilitation Centre in South Africa as a professional observer and was invited to represent the McLellan Practice in the UK, speaking on Eating Disorders, Self-Harm, Addiction and Bereavement.

According to Taye “No one has the monopoly on the truth. I know that ‘positive expression’ works for me and I know that it will work for many, provided they are willing to open their minds to it.”
